Description

End-feed shuttles are so called because the yarn feeds from the end of a static pirn instead of feeding from the side of a rotating bobbin. They deliver the weft yarn at a constant tension without the weaver having to manipulate each pick.

The Honex tensioning system can deliver a more precise weft tension and may be preferable for ultra-fine, stretch or flyaway yarns. Each shuttle comes with an Allen key to adjust the tensioning.

Like all other Bluster Bay shuttles this shuttle is crafted from a beautiful wood and has a silky smooth finish.

If the weight of your shuttle is important to you the list below (put together by Bluster Bay) will help you to make an informed choice. Please bear in mind that as wood is a natural product shuttles of the same size and style will vary slightly in weight - their colour and figure will also vary even when cut from the same tree!

For Bead Weaving: Place the beads you plan on weaving on a needle and measure an inch. Then, count how many beads are in that inch. The number of beads minus one is the warp coil that will be used. For example, if you are using Delicas you would find 19 Delicas are in one inch, so you would use the 18 dent coil. There is some leeway in this, and depending on the beads you are using, it might not w…
